I’ve mentioned before that I am in love with tanzanite. I have been collecting it since discovering it on a cruise in Mexico. It’s a rare gem, with a color that ranges from a light blue to purple, and it can be pretty pricey.
There’s a huge deal on a beautiful tanzanite ring today at Szul (4% cashback), with a gorgeous 1.3 carat tanzanite cocktail ring, in .925 sterling silver, for just $47 shipped! Prices of tanzanite jewelry have gone up in recent years – it’s only mined from one place (Tanzania, if you couldn’t guess), and their government, as well as the private owner of one of the largest mines there, are controlling the supply to increase prices. Some interesting reading on tanzanite is on Wikipedia.
It’s a great investment, and one of the reasons the price on this particular ring is so affordable is that it’s in a silver setting, versus a gold or platinum one. It’s the stones that have the value, though, so the setting’s really not that important. I don’t know about you, but I can’t tell sterling silver apart from white gold, anyway. 🙂
This ring’s available on Szul as their product of the week, but I wouldn’t expect it to last that long — buy now if you’re interested!
